I shit you not, Chaser is THE band that inspired the launch of DyingScene.com. This is skate punk. This is all-that-is-holy by way of all-that-is-Epifat. Chaser is a cocktail of fast, loud, and catchy and the sound on their latest effort sits firmly between ‘94 NOFX and ‘95 No Use For A Name—double-time drums, anthemic choruses, and big, sunny SoCal whoa-ohs. With Sound the Sirens, we find the band with not just the sound, but also, the songs. Through eleven tracks, you’ll see a band at the top of their songwriting game. Whether it’s opening stomper, “Uprising,” or the electric and volatile “A Million Reasons,” Sound the Sirens is an album of immaculate classics, worthy of standing beside the records that inspired it.

This album is AZip's best since Andiamo, maybe even A Passage In Time. And that's a high bar for a band that couldn't put out a bad studio album if they tried. There's hints of every previous album. Even fans who think the band went downhill after Passage should like this one. Mark Hammond
